Morning on the Seine

Oh Seine
The river so nice
That makes the morning
Feel like ice

The sunrise
Such a mixture of colour
The wind whispering
Makes me shudder

All the water rushing so fast
Like a magical spell
I hope the morning will always last
For all the secrets it could tell

Yet the morning is so silent
Nothing is too loud
Nothing could be this quiet
Not even a peaceful cloud

Oh Seine the river so nice
Never such a beautiful morning can happen twice.
By Virginia Guthrie

I wrote this in Grade 5. We were to pick an artwork then recreate it and I chose to write a poem on Claude Monet’s “Morning on the Seine” Like it?
